May The Lemon Be With You

Born perfectly healthy, Christian acquired Kawasaki Disease when he was just 4 months old and had a heart attack 2 weeks later. This heart attack severely damaged his heart and he required a heart transplant. Fortunately, Christian received his gifted heart 4 months later, and he has just celebrated his 10th heartiversary earlier this month. We are so grateful to the hospital that gave Christian a chance at life.

Over the last 10 years, we have had a few extended stays and some surgeries, and cannot express enough how grateful we are to have the Stollery in our backyard. Each admission, Christian is well taken care of, whether it’s the expert treatment, or the other things that kids need – video games, toys, treasure boxes, Christmas and Birthday presents, or visits from their sports heroes. Christian would not be here today without the Stollery and this is our reason to give back.

We are so fortunate to have this world-class facility. It’s a place that you hope to never need for your family, but almost everyone you know has a connection to this place.
