Lemonade Joy

We are so excited to host our lemonade stand in honour of our sweet Madelyn Joy. Maddy spent most of her short life in and out of the Stollery after being diagnosed with biliary atresia – a rare liver and bile duct disorder. We were so grateful for the care she received at the Stollery and can think of no better way to honour her memory than support this wonderful children’s hospital.

This year funds are going towards “caregiver cots” for the units. I genuinely couldn’t fathom not staying with Maddy while she was in the hospital, though it often meant I was sleeping in a chair overnight. I was so lucky to be able to be by her side through it all, but I was very grateful when there was a cot for me too!  The purchase of “caregiver cots” for multiple units at the Stollery will allow parents to stay close to their child.
