Anybody that knows us, knows that the Stollery is a second home for us! We have spent so many hours, days, weeks, even years at the Stollery.

Cadence has had over 430 weekly plasma infusions & just graduated from Peds into adult care, which has been an extremely challenging transition. There really is a big gap in services when peds doctors discharge you & can’t make referrals to replace all your specialists until you turn 18, but the waitlists for those specialists could be years! As an extremely medically complex family, this really affects everyone in a negative way & really tests our advocacy skills all over again. We are talking about at least 5-10 different specialists!

Holden is still an active Stollery kid & is part of a few different teams/clinics there. He currently sees a multidisciplinary team at the Sleep Clinic as well as the Aerodigestive Clinic & he sees Dr. Hicks & her Complex Asthma Clinic. (Some of the specialists he sees are- Respirology, Immunology, ENT, GI, Cardiology, Neurology, Psychology, RT, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology, NP’s, RN’s, OT & SLP. Cadence is also under a lot of these disciplines as well as the infusion clinic, Chronic Pain Clinic & the Palliative Care Team)

This fundraiser is really important to us because the Stollery has done SO much for our family & we want to do anything we can to pay them back.
