Ellis Ross, The Lemon Boss

When Ellis was born two months premature, he spent the first part of his life in the Stollery NICU. It was such a scary and overwhelming time as a new mom, especially in those moments when I couldn’t be right there beside him. Leaving your tiny, sick baby at the hospital (even when you know they’re surrounded by the very best care) is an incredibly difficult thing to do.

That’s why this year’s Simply Supper Lemonade Stand Day fundraiser feels especially close to our hearts. Ellis is raising money for NICView cameras, which give families a secure, live video connection to their baby in the NICU when they can’t physically be at their beside.

Having the ability to see Ellis during these moments would have been a game changer for me. And now, eight years later, it’s so special to watch him turn his own beginning into an opportunity to give back and make the NICU experience a little easier for other families.
