Meet the team
On August 23rd at 11am, we’ll be selling lemonade + pink lemonade ($1 a cup) for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation as part of Lemonade Stand Day 2025! We’ll be running until we run out of lemonade. (Message me for our address )
This year’s funds will go toward buying sleeping cots for caregivers staying overnight with their kids in the hospital. Just over a year ago, Fiona and I spent a week at the Stollery, and I know firsthand how hard it is to spend nights by your sick child’s side, especially without a proper place to rest. At that time, we were in a wing not designed for pediatric occupancy, so there was not great space for parents and it was really tough. Having a comfortable place to sleep makes a huge difference to kids and families.
We’re running this stand in memory of Wesley’s cousin, Jen, who passed last year. She was born with Congenital Heart Disease. Jen continuously beat all of the odds against her. She was an incredible person and a strong voice for CHD. Jen left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
And we’re running it in honour of Fiona’s journey in fetal cardiology. During my pregnancy we had weekly scans of her heart, along with 3x daily at-home Doppler checks. Our cardiologist was amazing, one night when Fiona’s heart didn’t sound quite right, I was able to call her personally, she’s was understanding and took my concern seriously. She brought us in the very next day to make sure our baby girl was still healthy. We are so deeply grateful for that level of care. Fetal cardiology isn’t offered everywhere, and having this program here in Edmonton is such a blessing.
So come grab a cup of lemonade and support the amazing staff, kids, families, and caregivers at the Stollery! Every cup makes a difference.
